Joining the community

COMET connects doctoral researchers, postdocs, mentors and research partners. Give accurate account and affiliation details, and keep your password private. The signup screen explains whether your application requires review before you can start membership. New membership access begins after Stripe confirms your subscription.

Taking part

Treat other members respectfully. Do not harass people, impersonate someone else, send spam or publish private information without permission. Share only material you have the right to share. Research discussions do not replace professional advice.

Posts, groups and opportunities

Use discussions for questions and conversation. Opportunity listings must describe a specific opening, intended audience and a way to apply or participate. Reviewers may reject a listing or return it to discussions. Public group proposals are reviewed, and duplicate public group names are not accepted.

Moderation and your account

Members can report content and block unwanted contacts. Authorised reviewers manage applications and community content within their assigned permissions. Access can be restricted when an account is disabled or community rules are breached. Account export and deletion requests are available in Settings.

Membership and billing

New members receive an introductory three-calendar-month free trial, followed by EUR 5 per month. A payment card is required to start the trial. The payment screen shows your trial end and first payment date before you confirm. The trial is available once per COMET billing customer. Restarting membership after using the trial starts a paid subscription immediately, as shown before checkout.

Stripe collects and stores payment details on its hosted pages. By confirming the subscription, you authorise recurring monthly payments after the trial until you cancel. Cancel through Membership & billing at any time before the next payment. Cancellation stops renewal and retains access until the end of the current trial or paid period. Removing a card is not the same as cancelling the subscription. A failed payment or expired membership can restrict community access; billing and account privacy controls remain available.

Existing accounts are not automatically enrolled or charged. The separate saved-card option does not itself start a subscription. A confirmed account-deletion request also schedules cancellation of the linked membership renewal. Cancelling a deletion request does not automatically restart renewal.
